Research Abstract |
We made a questionnaire survey of the opinions of physicians in clinics on the information system using personal IC cards for the health and medical care and welfare services. Physicians were deeply concerned about the introduction of the card system and a greater part of the physicians had opinions to proceed the card system by their primary participation. However, there were few physicians who took up a positive attitude to use the card system, and alarge part of the answers was that they would decide from the appearance of the systems. Thirty five percent of physicians did not know the alterations concerning medical information in medical law. Most of the physicians answered that the costs to buy the instruments and that of input of patient records should be shared by the municipal budget, and that the records of health and medical care on personal cards were useful. In contrast the use of the card system in cooperation with the welfare services had been rarely considered by physicians.
