Research Abstract |
We studied mechanism of circulatory support by cadiomyoplasty. We focused on changes of power output with the change of electrical stimulation protocol. From our study, identical frequency for cardiomyoplasty is around 20 Hz. Thirty Hz, that has been widely used for cardiomyoplasty electrical stimulation, seems to be higher than should be. We hypothized that clinical problems like muscle fatty degeneration or deterioration of muscle power in the long run is caused by exess of the stimulation frequency. Mechanism of circulatory support by cardiomyoplasty seems to be unloading of myocardial tension and decrease of oxygen consumption.
