Research Abstract |
Microvessels in the cheek pouch of the hamster were investigated to clariby their structural, reactivity, and leukocyte dynamics after the induction of diabetes. To induce diabetes hamsters were injected with streptozotoxin (50mg/kg bodywt./day).vascular dimensions and reactivity of selected arterioles and venules to microapplications of Acethylcholine were determined with capi-flow using Vital Video microsecopic system. The process of leukocyte dynamics induced by topical application of fMLP.The result were as follows. 1.There was a significant increase in lumendiameter of the microvessels in diabetic 2.The response of micro vessles to acetylcholine appear in the arteriolar microvessels of control hamsters. However that was depressed in diabetic hamsters. 3.Adhesion on the endtelium induced by topical application fMLP on microvasculature occur in venules only.but the number of adhered leukocyte to the venules significantly lower than control.
