Research Abstract |
The purpose of this report is to clarify the theory of the integrated curriculum in National schools practically. In this report, I especially investigated the integrated curricullum and subjects of science and mathematics. The following facts have been clarified : 1.The curriculum of National Schools was based on the synthetic education theory in 1930's and 1940's in Japan. 2.Especially the subjects of science and mathematics were constitvted in organic relation to each other. The fact is quite obvious in "The Observation of Nature" (Shizen no Kansatsu) in the first three grades, and "Elementary Science "(Shotoka-rika) in the fourth to the sixth grade of National schools.
