| Research Abstract |
The investigators of this project have already developed an original medium-free knowledge resentation, locus formulas, so called and have been attempting to establish infrastructure technologies about intelligent access to multimedia information on the basis of the intermedia translation technology through the knowledge representation. The term of our project is over three financial years, 1996-1998, and its purpose is to construct an intelligent system for clinical records including texts and illustrations. This financial year the investigators have implemented the essential parts of the integrated multimedia understanding system IMAGES- M of general purpose, which can translate texts, still pictures and animations into one another via the locus formulas.
