Research Abstract |
Recently, patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD) have increased in dental care. It has considered that mandibular dysfunction, caused by malocclusion. May affect temporomandibular joints for this reason. Our previous studies has shown how occlusal disharmony affected Insisal point movement of mandibule. Condylar point movement must be also understood to investigate the critical mechanism of TMD.The purpose of this study was to investigate the three-dimensional movements of condyle during border movements and chewing movements. The results were as follows 1. The condyle movement pattern has the close relation with the incisal movement pattern. 2. It was attained that condyle movements depend on the measuring point on conclyle during mastication.
