Research Abstract |
n order to understand the mass outflow phenomena from evolved stars, Tamura et al.have conduced near-infrared liner and circular polarimetry of a protoplanetary nebula at AAT under a good seeing condition. To study the dynamics of stars at the central region of the Galaxy, Deguchi et al.made JHK imaging observations of about 300 IRAS sources with SiO masers with ANU 2.3-m infrared telescope. Till today, they have analyzed the data of 67 sources which are located near the tip of the Galactic Bar. The Near-Earth-Asteroid (4660) Nereus is a candidate of target asteroid of MUSES-C project, an asteroid sample return mission by ISAS.Abe et al.performed photometric observations on the nights of August 2/3 and 3/4,1997 using ESO/MPI 2.2m telescope at La sSlla. Dobashi performed molecular observations toward the Circinus cloud in CO (J=1-0), using the Nagoya 4m radio telescope installed at Las Campanas observatory. Through these observations, they revealed the overall distribution of molecular gas as well as the velocity structure of the cloud. Four CO outflows were also discovered. On the 5 nights during 1997 Dec.27-1998 Jan.2, Hidai et al.observed spectra of 6 QSOs and 2 metal-deficient stars by using the HIRES equipped with the Keck 10-m telescope. The spectra with the wavelength region of 3600-5200 A and a resolution of 34000 were obtained for QSOs with dampled Ly-alpha and metal-deficient stars with [Fe/H] of about -2.5 dex.
