Research Abstract |
Since l992, Global Ocean Observing system, GOOS,has been promoted by the intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, UNESCO,aiming observations, data dissemination and analysis, ocean forcasting in climate, change of current system and ecosystem dynamics. Cooperative Research Program was carried out to compare the biological production, marine ecoystems and pollutions between the tropical waters and temperate waters in the westem Pacific. From electric potential differnce, the volume tranbsport of the Kuroshio warm current through the channel was measured by using the submarine cables between Okinawa and Taiwan, and Okinawa and Luzon. Thai, Malaysian and Japanese scientists tried to analyzes together biological, chemical, physical and sattelite dates which was investigated from the Gulf of Thailand and South China Sea. Malaysian and Japan scientists conducted the joint research to study the production of marine organisms living in the coral reef in the South Chiah Sea, and compare the sampling systems. In order to establish Physical model or Ecosystem model, Japanes scientists visited the USA,UK,France and Germany and exchanged the information each other.
