Research Abstract |
The principle and its application of the measurement method using statistical analysis of visualized flow image have been shown. A new algorithm for the image measurement technique has developed using the passing probability of a particle. The method is extended by the Lagrange's differentiation to generalized case such as spatio-temporal derivative method. Of course, this method is effective for steady flow and also for the measurement of time average flow velocity filed only. It is useful, however, for the measurement of wake distribution behind ship, for which it takes long time by Pitot Tube. It is also possible to measure the three-dimensional velocity vector. A new fluorescent tracer particle has developed using synthetic adsorbent and rhodamine-B.in this research. It is applicable to the other PIV measurement.
