Research Abstract

A, Neural control of tail, 1 . The peripheral inputs from tail cutaneous and muscles sent various information regarding tail movements and posture to central nervous systems. 2, Effects were recorded from hindlimb motoneurons after electrical stimulation of tail cutaneous nerves. The results suggested that the neuronal pathways from tail cutaneous afferents to hindlimb motoneurons maintain the balance of the pelvic girdle. 3, Tail muscle afferents facilitated flexor and inhibited extensor hindlimb motoneurons through polysynaptic pathways, so that the pelvic girdles is kept in a low position to maintain the body stability. 4, I showed the neuronal pathways for spinal reflex activated by group I and II muscle afferents in coccygal spinal segments innervating tail. 5, Electromyographic and kinematics studies were performed during tail waving movements.
B, Neural control of trunk, 1, The rhythmical discharge were, recorded from muscle nerves innervating trunk muscles after stimulating midbrain locomotor region in cats . 2, Effects of stimulation of muscle and cutaneous afferents innervating tail and hindlimb recorded from trunk motoneurons. 3, Electromyographic and kinematic studies were performed during treadmill locomotion.
