Research Abstract |
THE MORTALITY OF PATIENTS 11TH ARDS ARE VERY HIGH.TO SAVE THE PATIENTS, WE MUST DEVELOP NEW THERAPEUTIC METHODS.FROM 1997 TILL 1998, INHALED NITRIC OXIDE WERE ADMINISTERED IN 34 PATIENTS WHO REQUIRED VENTILATOR THERAPY OF OVER F102 0.4. THE 800 PPM NITRIC OXIDE STOCK TANK WERE USED.TO CONTRAST, WE SELECTED A GROUP OF PATIENTS WHO HAD THE SAME SEVERITY OF DISEASES.WE COULD NOT FIND ANY IMPROVEMENTS OF MORTALITY BY INHALED NITRIC OXIDE.MOST PATIENTS DIED BY MULTIPLE ORGAN FAILURE.FURTHER STUDIES ARE REQUIRED. IN ADDITION, WE TRIED TO DEVELOP THE NEW DEVICE TO GENERATE NITRIC OXIDE.THE 100 NS PULSE POWER WERE ADDED TO THE MIXED GASES OF NITROGEN AND OXYGEN.THE AMOUNT OF NITRIC OXIDE GENERATION CHANGED BASED ON THE RATIO OF NITROGEN AND OXYGEN.THE AMOUNT OF GENERATED NITRIC OXIDE WAS HIGHEST WHEN THE RATIO OF NITROGEN/OXYGEN WERE AROUND 4/1. THE FREQUENCY AND ENERGY OF PULSE POWER AFFECTED TUE AMOUNT OF NITRIC OXIDE GENERATION.THE HIGHER AND STRONGER, THE AMOUNT OF GENERATED NITRIC OXIDE WAS HIGHER.SMALL AMOUNT OF NITRIC DIOXIDE WAS GENERATED ALSO.THIS NITRIC DIOXIDE WAS EASILY CONVERTED TO NITRIC OXIDE BY USING A HIGH TEMPERATURE (OVER 500 C) MOLYBDEM.THE STUDY IMPLIES THE POSSIBILlTY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF A VENTILATOR WITH A NITRIC OXIDE GENERATOR.
