Research Abstract |
We have performed research factors which are considered to affect invasive potential and metastasis on histological types in the gynecologic cancers. The research results are summarized as follows. 1). The endometrial cancer cells which were transfected with estrogen receptor, showed increased proliferation and promoted invasive potential after giving estrogen. 2). Expression intensity of E-cadherin and catenin showed reverse correlation to invasive and metastasis potential. 3). We have researched on the correlation of invasive potential and motility in the endometrial cancer cells. Higher expression of integrin β1 on the cellular membrane was seen in the higher motile cell lines. 4). We have studied immunohistochemical expression of CD9 which are considered as a motility molecule in the cancer cells. Cervical cancer cases with CD9 positive had significantly higher positive lymph nodes than those with CD9 negative. 5). The expression of MMP-2, MT1-MMP and the activation of MMP-2 in the ovarian cancer cells are important factors for invasive potential.
