Research Abstract |
For the purpose of the improvement of plasma electron temperatures due to potential confinement for plasma electrons, the investigations of (1) the relation and scaling laws of spatial structures of electron temperatures and electron confinement potentials, as well as (2) the relation between produced potentials and incident plasma heating powers have been carried out. In particular, our newly developed plasma diagnostic systems on the basis of the newly proposed theory on the x-ray-energy response of semiconductor detectors are applied for spatially resolved data analyses of the spatial distributions of both electron temperatures and plasma confining potentials. These results on the data analyses are usefully employed for the total effects on plasma parameters ; that is, the relation and the scaling law for electron temperatures and electron confining potentials have been obtained as functional relations. These provide future methods for improvement in plasma parameters. Electron temperatures are well scaled with the values of electron confining thermal-barrier potentials. In turn, the thermal-barrier potentials are well scaled with electron heating powers ; namely, electron cyclotron heating (ECH) powers. In addition, these scalings have the dependence of plasma densities and ion-confining potentials. These total scalings are systematically constructed, and their details will be published in journals.
