Research Abstract |
This study was carried out for 2 years, and three systems : a diagnosis system for motion accuracy of a machine tool, a diagnosis system for the main spindle of a machine tool, and a remote diagnosis system of a machine tool by utilizing a network, have been developed. The results are summarized as follows : 1. A diagnosis system for motion accuracy of a machine tool A method to test motion and positioning accuracy of an NC machine tool is proposed and a device and a system to measure and diagnose the accuracy are developed. The device has the measurement resolution of 1 mm by using the laser interferometer. It was confirmed that the device with two measurement axes could measure the locus such as circular motion and perpendicular motion. 2. A diagnosis system for the main spindle of a machine tool An acceleration sensor, an AE sensor, and a thermo-sensor are installed by the main spindle of a machine tool. A system is developed to diagnose the damage of the main spindle of a machine tool by extracting the features representing damage of the main from the sensor signals and identifying the feature with the damage. 3. A remote diagnosis system of a machine tool by utilizing a network The mutual communication system between a host computer and the controller of an NC machine tool was developed. Using the system enable one to operate a machine tool by remote control from the host computer side and to obtain and modify the NC parameter from a remote place. In addition, signals from the sensor installed in a machine tool are transferred to the remote host computer through the network. A remote diagnosis system of a machine tool was developed by using the mutual communication system.
