The stable supply of electric power makes the basis which supports present society activity, and many measures are done in the each department which constitutes electric power system for the stable maintenance of the supply reliability. However, the wide power cut is generated by natural or man-made disaster as reported even in today in the newspaper, and has the considerable time for the restoration. In this study, by supporting accident restoration of the power system operator in order to overcome such situation, following items were studied on the practical system for the quick restoration. 1. The examination on the method for efficiently determining optimum target network configuration in about 30 seconds, which are the design objective value in the practical use, is carried out. 2. The system which can evaluate the proposal method by the setting of various condition is constructed. To begin with, three methods were proposed based on the mathematical programming for the item on superscription (1). That is to say, determination method of target configuration using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) ; the method by the combined use of Linear Programming and MIP ; the method for introduction then, the strategy of power system operator at "restorative operation cost", was proposed. It became possible that 30 seconds which are the design objective value of the preparation of target network configuration were almost cleared with the final method, even if the mathematical programming is applied. From the above result, it seemed to obtain the possibility of the practical application of restorative operation using mathematical programming. Next, power system restoration system using OSF/Motif was developed on the item on (2). This system has six functions of "power system model preparation", "screen display", "power cut identification", "system analysis", "target network configuration preparation", and "restoration procedure preparation".
