Research Abstract

無機金属材料、岩石鉱物などは、多くの場合複数の相や方位の異なる結晶相の集合体であり、これらの集合組織はその創成や形成の条件を反映しており、物性とも密接な関係がある。したがって微細な結晶組織の分析・解析は材料研究にとつて重要な最初のステップの一つである。このような結晶組織の研究は透過型電子頭微鏡によって広く行われているが、電子線の透過能により、μm以下のような極微小部分の解析のみに適用され、cmから数mmのスケールのようなマクロな試料中に見られるμm越える部分の解析には不向きである。また最近では、放射光の強力X線源を用いた極微小単結晶の構造解析が行われるようになっているが、施設や装置の利用に制約があり、この利用も日常的に活用できるものではない。以上のように、現状では、光学観察のスケールにおける結晶組織を非破壊で局所的に、しかも日常的に汎用の通常の封入管X線源によって、構造解析する方法は余り確立されていない。本研究ではこのような必要性から、(1)特別なX線源ではなく汎用の実験室封入管X線源によつてデータが得られること、(2)光学顕微鏡、走査型電子顕微鏡などで観察した試料に対し、その観祭から得た組織の情報を失わずに分析・解析できること、(3)薄片試料、研磨試料に対し、数10μmの領域に含まれる結晶相の同定、結晶相の方位の解析を可能とすること、(4)10μm径程度の単結品の結晶構造解析を可能とすること、(5)線束30μm程度のX線に照射される範囲に含まれる微少量粉末結晶試料の同定を可能とすること、などのような点を目標として微小領域・微少量での結晶学的な解析の方法の確立を目指し、装置の開発・改良および測定のためのソフトウエア開発を行ったものである。
