Research Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop the training system of the keyboarding for the visually impaired. By the recordings of a video camera and off-line behavior analysing system, the positions and movements were analysed. And then the training system that presented the subjects to users by a voice-synthesized device was developed.
Development of the basic system was complete. The evaluation of the users to the system was good on the whole. But it took a lot of time to select the data for the training, and further examinations were expected. Especially an understanding of chinese characters on the visually impaired was thought to be very important. The problem of the measurement of the difficulty to move fingers in relation to full spelling of the chinese characters was left unresolved.
