Research Abstract |
In this research project, the investigator tried to approach to the problem of Islamization and social changes of the Middle East in Medieval time from two directions as follows. 1. A intensive study for political situation and social changes of the Christian communities of Jazira province in the ^cAbbasid period. For this purpose, the investigator carried out to examine Arabic and Syriac sources in detail and to do comparative analysis and particular investigations of them. As the result, some new fact s were found about the Christian communities in this time and space. The results were published in a monograph and read three reports to academic meetings. 2. A preparatory study and basic works for a comparative study for Islamization and social changes of the Middle Eastern societies. For this purpose, the investigator examined the preceded studies about the cases in Egypt, Syria and Palestine, in addition to visiting and discussing with the researchers in Egypt, Syria, Israel and Lebanon. Now, this works are continued.
