Research Abstract

The main purpose of this research is gathering, arranging, deciphering and analyzing of fundamental historical documents of Obang-za (***), the Goto family (***). I made material cards of documents of the Obang-za Goto family (*******) which is possessed by Historiographical Institute, the University of Tokyo (*********) in order to construct a catalog type database. And I investigated how is the best reference system for historical documents from the view of computer technology On the way of this research a descendant of the Goto Shirobei family (*******) who is the head family of the Goto family deposited its historical materials with Historiographical Institute for this project It was out of my plan. But I adjusted them and made material cards of only historical documents of them. They contain not only historical documents but also many articles, for example several portraits and many accessories of swords (mitokoro-mono ***). And I researched historical materials of the Goto Kanbei family (******), too, who is one of branch families in Kyoto. They are possessed by the Kyoto university museum (*********). This was the first research for them. I took photographs of them. After this research I inspected and input data of historical materials of Obang-za, the Goto family. I will offer a book style catalog and its compressed files from my internet website.
