Research Abstract |
The VAX Alpha Station 255/300 system has been introduced to facilitate various programs for data analyses, structure calculations, and reaction calculations, which had been developed by the present investigator. It has been confirmed that the new system reproduce previous results with good efficiency and speed. Experimental data for various nuclear reactions have been analyzed using this system, and compared with theoretical calaulations performed with the same system. The astorophysical S factor for one of the key nuclear reactions in astronuclear physics, ィイD17ィエD1Be(d,n)ィイD18ィエD1B, has been extracted in a rather uncertainty-free way. The value of about 18 eV・b is consistent with other data and theoretical predictions. Differential cross section data for the ィイD112ィエD1C(d,p)ィイD113ィエD1C were measured at several incident energies to test the analysis method employed for the ィイD17ィエD1Be(d,n)ィイD18ィエD1B reaction. Experimental data for various (p,n) abd (n,n) reactions, obtained at The Cyclo

tron and Radioisotope Center of Tohoku University, have been also analyzed. We have extracted the spreading widths of the isobaric analog states (IAS) from the experimental results for the (p,nィイD1IASィエD1P) reactions, which were compared with theoretical calculations to discuss effects of isospin mixing, coupling with the isovector monopole in particular. From a systematic study of the (p,n) transition strengths to IAS, we have obtained the mass-number dependence of the isovector part of the nuclear optical potential. Not only cross sections but also polarization transfer DィイD1NNィエD1 were measured for the ィイD117,18ィエD1O(p,n)ィイD117,18ィエD1F reactions at 118 MeV. Solar nutrino absorption cross sections for ィイD117,18ィエD1O were estimated from the results. Many (p,n) cross sections, including those for the ィイD140ィエD1Ca(p,n) and ィイD16,7ィエD1Li(p,n) reactions, have been analyzed and compared with distorted-wave Born approximation calculations, shell-model calculations, and others. The data for (n,n) scattering were analyzed together with previous proton and neutron scattering data. The energy dependences of the potential parameters were parametrized to apply dispersion relation to separate the Hartree potential and core-polarization potential. Less
