Research Abstract |
Theoretical analysis has been conducted on the free hydroelastic coupled vibrations of a thin sector shell with attached liquid layers in a low-gravity condition. Experimental studies were also conducted on the vibration of liquid drop within the range of those carried out on the grand. The study is subdivided into two parts. I. Theoretical analysis on the free hydroelastic vibration of a thin sector shell with attached liquid layers inside and/or outside the shell wall. Flugge thin shell theory and velocity potential theory were used, and the influences of surface tension of the liquid, geometry of the shell, and material parameters of the system, on the coupled vibration characteristics of the system were clarified. II. Experimental study on dynamic behaviors of liquid drop on a vibrating base. Water drop was used was excited harmonically The conditions at which the water drop removes from the base, and at which the water separates in itself.
