Research Abstract |
Basic characteristics of induced current in bio-materials exposed to ELF magnetic and electric fields are successfully investigated in order to provide preliminary data that will be useful to design the measuring system of environmental magnetic field. The following results are obtained. (1) Semi-theoretical expression to estimate the induced current distribution in eccentric double-layered spherical model is proposed. (2) Conventional "impedance method" is successfully modified to improve the numerical precision by introducing new boundary condition on the continuity of current density at boundary Area. (3) Two numerical procedure mentioned above are applied to estimate the magnetically induced current distribution under various geometrical and environmental conditions, and their characteristics are discussed. (4) It is pointed out that the existence of tissue membranes should be taken into account for the precise discussion of induced current. (5) Resultant induced current attributed to the magnetic and electrical induction caused by simultaneous exposure to magnetic and electric fields. Those results mention above will offer useful data to design the measuring system of environmental magnetic field as a next stage of the research project.
