Research Abstract |
We propose a new type of integrated optical tunable wavelength converter with waveguide wavelength filter. The device is basically consist of second harmonic section and filter section. In secondo harmonic section, two periodic domain inverted areas are pi phase-shifted at the center axis of waveguide along the propagating direction In this region second harmonic light with antisynmnetric higher order mode is generated from the lowest order symmetric mode at fundamental wavelength. In filter section fundamental and higher order modes are splitted because of the mode splitting behavior of non-symmmetric Y branching waveguides. This filter section also works as a mode converter so that after propagating the Y branching higher order mode of second harmonic wave is converted to fundamental mode. We analyzed the proposed devices and made the second harmonic section successfully.
