Research Abstract |
Starting and driving methods of contactless power transmissin to electric vehicles or wheel chair were proposed. By employing rectangular and spiral coils for primary and secondary windings, respectively, for contactless power station. Electric power over 200 watts was transmitted to a fabricated EV motor setup. The EV is a compact prototype driven by CLPS, loaded with a light-weight battery. The battery supplies a part of transient current arising from starting and acceleration of EV. Furthermore, we propose a contactless power transmission using a new meader type coil. Effectiveness for stabilizing the amount of the transmitted power against a load displacement and suppressing electromagnetic noise emission is the features of meander type coils. Maximum power is transmitted when the pitch of the transmitter coil corresponds to the receiver shape. An active excitation system was realized using circuit in which the relative position between transmitter and receiver coils are always assures. Furthermore the optimal distribution of magnetic flux was made clear for the system.
