Research Abstract |
The importance of environmental learning becomes now larger and heavier. Some kinds of public facilities are taking part in environmental education. This study aims to make clear how the facility should be built through surveying the actual situation of environmental education on several facilities in Japan, e.g. museums, aquariums, ecology centers, recycle centers, science museums and so on. We sent out questionnaires to some seven hundreds museums and public institutes, and we asked about contents of exhibition and activities, building condition of facilities, organization, allocation of special staffs, cooperation with other institutions, etc., as supportive activities for environmental learning. And also we have visited facilities and heard the details. We observed visitors behaviors at the exhibitions for environmental learning.
