Research Abstract |
TO ESTABLISH SCREENING SYSTEM IN ASSESSING ENDOCRINE DISRUPTING CHEMICALS, WE HAVE ASSESSED WELL-KNOWN ENDOCRINE DISRUPTERS BY USING BOTH HUMAN ESTROGEN RECEPTOR-INDUCED YEAST AND HUMAN BREAST CANCER CELL LINE (MCF-7)., AND COMPARED SENSITIVITY OF THESE ASSAY SYSTEMS.WE HAVE OBSERVED MCF-7 CELL ASSAY SYSTEM IS MORE SENSITIVE THAN YEAST-BASED ASSAY SYSTEM. ADDITIONALLY, ADDITION OF ENDOCRINE DISRUPTERS, SUCH AS METHOXYCHLOR, 0CTYLPHENOL, AND BISPHENOL A, INDUCED AUTOANTIBODY AGAINST SS-AIRo IN NORMAL HUMAN EPIDERMAL KERATINOCYTES.THIS OBSERVATION IMPLY THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES AND ENViRONMENTAL ENDOCRINE DISRUPTERS.
