Research Abstract |
We investigated the effects of various physiological agonists on heat shock protein (HSP)27 induction in osteoblasts and the intracellular signaling system. We obtained the results as follows : 1. Prostaglandin F2alpha stimulates HSP27 induction in osteoblast-like MC3T3-El cells. The activation of protein kinase C is involeved in the HSP27 induction by prostaglandin F2alpha. In addition, p42/p44 mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase plays at a downstream from protein kinase C. 2. Endothelin-1 stimulates HSP27 induction in osteoblast-like MC3T3-El cells. The activation of protein kinase C is involeved in the HSP27 induction by endothelin-1. In addition, p38MAP kinase plays at a downstream from protein kinase C. 3. Sphingosine 1-phosphate, a metabolite of sphingomyelin, stimulates HSP27 induction in osteoblast-like MC3T3-E1 cells. p38MAP kinase is involved in the HSP27 induction by Sphingosine 1-phosphate.
