Research Abstract |
1. Research of map-making process of Dewa-no-kuni-ezu in the Edo era Dewa-no-kuni-ezu is pictorial maps of Akita and Yamagata prefectures set by the Tokugawa government. As a result of examined where Dewa-no-kuni-ezu is in existence, we confirmed existences of 158 maps. In number, Dewa-no-kuni-ezu is a large number of Kuni-ezu in Japan. According to former researches, Kuni-ezu wasn't drawn at Kyouhou time, but we confirmed that Dewa-no-kuni-ezu was drawn at its time by Akita-han and Yonezawa-han. 2. A case study of Dewa-no-kuni-ezu's spatial expression Michiaki Iwahana considered how holy mountaines drawn in Kuni-ezu are arranged in space. Hideo Watanabe considered by traffic expression drawn in Dewa-no-kuni-ezu, and made a list of archives concerning Dewa-no-kuni-ezu keeped at Akita archival library. 3. Research of tranceformation of figure by map-making of Dewa-no-kuni-ezu Atsushi Onodera attempted tranceformation of figure of Dewa-no-kuni-ezu by image processing. Through this attempt, I can make a clear distinction between draft-map-figure and complete-map-figure. I comprehended that han (clan) needed to modify a boundary line through and through because of map-making.
