Research Abstract |
In these years, Numbers of Japanese colleges which have developed the systems of 'Teaching Evaluation by students' are increasing. But we have few centers which support teachers to develop their teaching. The aim of this research is to test the utility of Shuttle Card System (DAIFUKU-CHO System) which was developed by Dr. Kijun Oda as a system to develop teaching with student's feedback- information on teaching in class. Three kinds of data (student's evaluation on using Shuttle Card in class, student's evaluation on teaching in class and reports on Shuttle Card Effects) were collected and we get following results. 1) With use of Shuttle-Card System in class, student's evaluation on teaching in class was increased. 2) Many Shuttle-Card Effects (Daifuku-cho Effects) were found. Such as promotion effect to attend class, effect of positive participation in class, effect to develop relationship between teacher and students, effect of self-recognition that student is developing in class, etc. 3) At the start of the term, students had negative attitude on Shuttle-Card, but at the end of the term the 97% students made positive evaluation for using Shuttle-Card in class. This result shows us that teacher's comments (I-message) on Shuttle-Card had changed student's evaluation on Shuttle Card positively. Shuttle Card (Daifuku-cho) System is a kind of formative evaluation method of teaching development with student's feedback-information on teaching in class and its high utility in class was proved.
