Research Abstract

本年度は高温高圧下で合成されたhydrous β-phase(wadsleyite)及びhydrous γ-phase(ringwoodite)を使い、各種の物性測定を行った。その1つはhydrous γ-phaseの単結晶を使い、ブリルアン散乱法により弾性定数を決定した。その結果、体積弾性率は155±4GPa,剛性率は107±3GPaと求まり、この値は無水のγ-phaseよりそれぞれ16%,11%小さいことを見いだした(Inoue et al.,1998)。また、各種オリビンの高圧多形のレオロジーをニューヨーク州立大学ストニーブルックのグループと一緒に、無水系含水系で決定した(Chen et al.,1998)。また、高圧下での単結晶構造解析も行い、圧力による結晶構造の変化も捉えた(Kudoh and Inoue,1998)。ラマン分光による物性測定も行った(Liu et al,1998)。
さらに、放射光を使ったその場観察実験により、現在hydrous β-phaseの状態方程式を決定している。放射光実験の他のテーマとしては、ポストスピネル相転移圧の精密決定を行った(Irifune et al.,1998)。
現在までの成果の総まとめとして、「マントル物質の相平衡及び鉱物物性に対するH_2Oの影響」としてレビュー論文を執筆した(井上,1998)。また、マントル中へのH_2Oの運搬の候補として、K-amphiboleに注目し、その脱水分解反応の相平衡図を決めるとともに、島弧海溝系の火山活動との関連について言及した(Inoue et al.,1998)。
