Research Abstract

1) 子宮頚癌においては,組織型により血管新生数が有意に異なること(腺癌>扁平上皮癌),また,血管新生数が独立した予後因子となることを明らかとした.
2) vascular endothelia1 growth factor(VEGF)の蛋白発現が腺癌で高頻度であること,platelet derived endothelial ce11 growth factor(PD一ECGF)の蛋白発現が扁平上皮癌で高頻度であること,VEGFおよびPD-ECGFの蛋白発現が逆相関関係にあること,vascular endothelial growth factorの蛋白発現と血管新生数が相関すること,および関質細胞におけるPD-ECGFの発現と血管新生数が相関することを明らかとした.
3) VEGFのmRNAlevelでの発現は,初期浸潤癌症例で最も高く,進行と共に低丁するが,血行性転移を伴う症例では高値を示すこと,VEGF mRNA levelは,新生血管数と相関すること,およびPD-ECGFのmRNA levelでの発現と新生血管数は相関しないことを明らかとした.
4) placenta growth factor(PIGF)のmRNA levelでの発現を,約半数の扁平上皮癌症例において認めたが,腺癌症例においては認めなかった.
以上より,血管新生数の評価は,子宮頚癌の予後因子として有益であること,および子宮頚癌の血管新生にVEGF,PD-ECGF,PIGFが重要な役割を果たしていることが証明された.
