Research Abstract

高分子イオン液体を用いた高効率・高選択的かつ安定なHPLC固定相の開発を目的に、当該研究者はHPLC固定相に応用できる数種の新規な高分子イオン液体修飾シリカ材料の開発を行った。その結果、新規な合成方法を開発するとともに、高い規則性と安定性を有する双性イオン性機能化固定相の開発に成功した。
以下にこれまでの取組みと成果を具体的に要約する。アリルブチルイミダゾリウムイオン液体修飾シリカ粒子(SiImBr)をラジカル重合反応により合成し、多環芳香族炭化水素及び極性化合物に対して、疎水性だけでなく、π-π相互作用やイオン・双極子相互作用などに基づく分子識別能を発揮しうることを確認した。また、長鎖アルキル基を有する臭化ビニルオクタデシルイミダゾリウムイオン液体修飾シリカ粒子(Sil-PImC_<18>-Br)をラジカル重合反応により合成した。この固定相は、対アニオンを臭素イオンからπ共役系色素アニオンに変換することが可能であり、これによって色素は高度に配向し、結果として従来の液体クロマトグラフィーには見られない高い選択性が発現した。たとえば、分離が難しいエストラジオール異性体の分離に成功した。
さらに本年度は、マルチモードで利用できるHPLC固定相の開発にも着手した。イオン液体モノマーをシリカ上で共重合させた双性イオン性のシリカ粒子(Sil-P(ImC_<18>-SS)およびSil-P(VIm-AMPS))を開発し、そのマルチモード(すなわち、順相、逆相、HILIC)の条件下で評価し、いずれのモードにおいてもすぐれた分離性能が得られることを確認した。
