Research Abstract

本研究では電場印加により異方性を生じる液晶分子を用い、電場を印加することにより開閉制御可能なナノレベルの分子扉を有する電場応答性メソポーラスシリカの合成を行い、ドラッグデリバリーシステム材料としての応用を検討した。具体的には、表面修飾法により液晶分子を模擬した有機分子をメソポーラスシリカ表面に固定化し、細孔内にゲスト分子であるイブプロフェンを充填した後、擬似体液中において電圧を印加することにより、内包させたイブプロフェンの放出速度の制御を試みた。電場印加に伴うドラッグ分子の一定の放出および電場応答性が確認されたが、ドラッグデリバリー機能発現に十分な電場応答性を付与するには、今後更に改良を行っていく必要があるものと考えられる。電場印加のオン・オフにより内包分子の放出速度を人為的に制御することができれば、医療分野でのドラッグデリバリーシステムだけでなく、ナノテクノロジーやファインケミカル分野でもキャリアホストとしての応用が期待できる。
これに関連して、高効率固体触媒系の構築を目的とし、ユニークな構造や表面機能特性を有するポーラスシリカ材料の創成も実施してきた。例えば、マイクロポーラスチタノシリケート材料の表面にアルカリカチオン種を取り付けたところ、ゲスト分子の拡散挙動及び、反応後の生成物収率が大きく変化することを実験的、分光学的、計算科学的手法により明らかにした。また、コア-シェル型構造を有するメソポーラスシリカナノ粒子に酵素触媒を包摂させることで、安定性・再利用性に優れた酵素触媒を開発することに成功した。ナノポーラス材料の表面構造を精密制御することで、細孔内部での特定の物質の拡散挙動や反応速度を制御できることができ、これらの研究成果はナノマテリアルをボトムアップ的に構築していく上での重要な知見になるものと考えられる。
