Research Abstract

宇宙背景放射の観測から推測されるバリオン密度に対して標準ビッグバン元素合成理論が予言する^7Liの存在度が、昔できた星で観測される存在度と一致しない問題がある。この問題の原因として、強い相互作用をするエキゾチックな重い長寿命粒子の効果が可能性として考えられる。
宇宙初期に色を持つエキゾチックな重い長寿命粒子(Y)が存在すると、色の閉じ込めにより、強い相互作用をするエキゾチックな重い粒子(X)に閉じ込められると考えられる。Xの組成は、宇宙初期のクオーク・ハドロン相転移後に、2つのX粒子の衝突に付随する対消滅で減少する。X粒子は通常の原子核と束縛状態を形成し宇宙の軽元素組成に影響を与え得るのだが、その影響は宇宙で元素合成が起こる時期のXの存在度に依存する。今年度は、強い相互作用をするX粒子に閉じ込められる、色を持つY粒子の共鳴散乱を通した対消滅を研究し、Xの存在度について知見を得た。
宇宙での2つのXの衝突の際に、YとY(Yの反粒子)で構成される共鳴状態を経由してY粒子の対消滅が起こると仮定し、Yの初期組成、質量、Xのエネルギー準位、YY共鳴状態の崩壊幅をパラメターとした時の対消滅率をモデル化してXの最終組成を計算した。採用した設定での結果として、X粒子の存在度は従来の見積よりも著しく大きくなる場合がある一方で、有意に小さくなる場合はなかった。最終組成の計算結果は、^7Liの組成が減少したり、^9BeやBの組成が増大したりするのに必要な量の見積値に達している。
Xの最終組成は、相転移の状況に依存する可能性がある。粒子が軽元素組成に与えた影響が観測的に確かめられれば、相転移に関する情報を軽元素の始原組成から引き出せる可能性がある。将来、このように相転移の痕跡を調べられる可能性を指摘した。
