Research Abstract |
The purpose of this international joint research project (6 countries including Japan) is to develop new systems technologies which can contribute to realize unbundled power quality services and their related systems technologies. Unbundled power quality service is a business concept which is designed to give power consumers the ability to select their power quality and power supplier according to the power cost. Unbundled power quality services may be defined as providing various power quality levels at differentiated cost. This feature is an important function of Flexible, Reliable and Intelligent Electrical ENergy Delivery System (FRIENDS). In particular, for this project, the following technologies have been developed. -A new framework of the electrical power delivery system configurations for realizing unbundled power quality services. -Design of the quality control center for unbundled power quality services. -The role of unbundled power quality services in an urban area energy supply system. -Energy conservation effect of unbundled power quality services and advanced DSM. -Wave form analysis and wave form quality control technologies. -Development of autonomous control technologies for distribution systems under unbundled power quality services. -New role of distributed generators and distributed energy storage device for unbundled power quality services. -Computer control scheme and new integrated data base for unbundled power quality services. -Power electronics device technologies. -Effect of unbundled power quality services to customer's power consumption.
