Research Abstract |
[Establishment of reference family for QTL analysis and characterize the economical traits of chicken lines] : 2,930 individuals of F2 generation were established from Oh-shamo and White Leghorn mating. As the economical traits, body weight, shank length, egg production, egg weight, meat color, crude fat, crude protein, amino acid, pH, and myoglobin were measured. [Development of DNA markers and its typing] : Eighty functional genes were mapped on chromosome map by using direct R-banding FISH method. No.1, 2, 4, and 5 of chicken chromosomes had high homology with human chromosomes. Chicken Z chromosome was found to be high homology with No.5 and 9 of human chromosomes. Out of 800 microsatellite DNA developed, 314 microsatellite DNA were informative in our reference family. [Analysis of immune-associated gene] : Recombinant protein from chicken IL-6 gene was identified and its activity was confirmed. An expression of mRNA of IL-6 gene was confirmed in GST cell line induced by IPTG stimulation.
