Research Abstract |
1 New power supply for the 3kV 100kJ capacitors was made and installed. 2 We made a Cu-Ag wire pulsed magnet and achieved 36T using the new 3kV 100kJ capacitor bank. 3(1) We made a new cryostat equiped with the 36T Cu-Ag pulsed magnet and made several high field ESR measurements at low temperature. (2) Using this new cryostat, we made cyclotron resonance measurements of two dimensional organic conductor α-(BEDT-TTF) _2 KHg (SCN) _4 at 1.8K.We determined 4 effective masses 0.46m_e (CRI), 0.96m_e (CR2), 1.30m_e (CR3), 1.71m_e (CR4) in the SDW phase below the kink field. (3) We succeeded in observing the cyclotron resonance CR3 at 1.8K in the high field phase above the kink field using the frequencies 466-503 GHz. As CR3 is different from the resonance CR2 from the α orbit, this result suggests that there exists a phase boundary between the high temperature phase and the high field phase. 4 We observed the cyclotron resonances of θ-(BEDT-TTF) _2I_3, which has much simpler Fermi surface than α-(BEDT-TTF) _2 KHg (SCN) _4, by vector network analyzer down to 0.5K.We measured the temperature and the mode coupling dependences and determined the effective masses as 1.03m_e and 2.14m_e. 5 We observed the cyclotron resonances of two dimensional or ganic conductor (BEDT-TTF) 2Br (DIA) by vector network analyzer down to 0.5 K.The resonances were observed up to 5th order. Observed resonances may be the periodic orbit resonance proposed by Hill et al. and the detailed analyses are on the way.
