Research Abstract |
This research aims mainly to make clear the present conditions of so-called less-favoured areas(depopulated areas, mountainous areas, inclined areas, and so on)and the problems for revitalization. The study proved that less-favoured areas show serious state on the decreasing and aging in population, the collapse of local commmunities, and the waste land uncultivated. And, the revitalization of less-favoured areas, especially to continue agriculture and forestry there, proved to be the important problem of the control over the regional resources and the protection of the national land and the enviloment, for the whole nation including the urban inhabitants. So, for the revitalization of less-favoured areas, the policies are required that promote to live there and to continue agricultuire and forestry in itself, because agriculture and forestry carry very important public benefit that they keep environment and country good.. And the original policies of local governments, prefectures as well as towns and villages, are very important and effective, conciously the connection and coexistence with the urban areas.
