Research Abstract

To make hologram easily, the vessel (VPPH) for automatically developing Photo-conductor Plastic Hologram (PPH) with solvent vapor has been made for experiment and has been improved. A new type of VPPH for practical use has been developed to make a Multiplexed Matched Spatial Filter (MMSF) rapidly and simply. VPPH constitutes the central part of the optical analogue computing system for discriminating plural shapes simultaneously and instantaneously. The optical analogue computing system is composed of a laser, optical system for making hologram and PPHV which are aligned on a rail base, in order to avoid the influence of vibration from outside. In view of these facts, new techniques have been established as followings. The system for being able to make hologram in a few minutes on a wooden table in a twilight room has been developed, the system is tested and evaluated for ability for making MMSF, it is ascertained that the system has high ability for making MMSF having high efficiency. The system for discriminating plural shapes simultaneously and optical-analogously, that is, an optical analogue computer, is composed of a laser, optical setup for making MMSF, a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM), CCD camera for taking images of the discriminated shapes, a display for projecting the images and a personal computer for projecting the alignment of reference shapes as an algorithm. In consequence of experiments for discriminating shapes of particles and/or letters, it is confirmed that those shapes can be discriminated simultaneously in light speed by the new system. In order to inspect the externals of board loading electronic parts, the new technique is applied. Some kinds of defects existing on a board can be discriminated simultaneously and instantaneously by this technique. And, it is clarified in the experiments that the developed technique is applicable to discriminate images of flow vectors taken to photograph in dense field of particles.
