Research Abstract |
Yuan Dynasty was the age under Mongol rule. So, it was imaged the age of winter for Chinese traditional culture, especially for Shidafu - Chinese intellectuals. I intend to reexamine Chinese intellectual society under Mongol rule through using stone inscription. I researched four subjects ; 1) research to stone inscriptions as historical materials, 2) civil examination, 3) writing for stone inscriptions, 4) Yuan policy to Chinese intellectuals. 1) I researched stone inscriptions from its form, value as historical materials, and relation to research of Yuan study. And I made catalog of stone inscriptions in Qufu. 2) On civilexamination, former studies estimated not having position at Yuan society. I thought research of Yuan civilexamination was stage at storing historical materials and historical facts. So I researched the basic materials and cleared Its historical value. 3) On writing on stone inscription, I researched "who wrote for whom". And I pointed out ; writing had important relation to their activity with local society. 4) On policy to Chinese intellectuals, I researched on treatment of Yanshenkong family and ruhu system using stone inscriptions. And I pointed out ; Yuan was not cold to Chinese traditional culture. In this 4 years, Yuan studies progressed. On civil examination and Yuan attitude to Chinese traditional culture, some scholars present same opinion with me.
