Research Abstract |
The genus Impatiens (Balsaminaceae) is widely distributed in the world and the Sino-Himalayan region is one of the center of the diversification. To clarify the characteristics of the Sino-Himalayan elements of the genus Impatiens the morphological and cytogenetical studies were carried. For the comparison Japanese plants of Impatiens were also studied. 1. The morphological variation of the floral organ were investigated. 2. The specimens deposited in the main herbaria and Japanese species were investigated. 3. The chromosome numbers and karyotypes were observed. 4. The species delimitation is studied. 5. The morphological characters of the inflorescences were investigated and the infrageneric groups were recognized and compared.
