Research Abstract

(1) A multi-vender and multi-modality system has been constructed and improved in which images were generated, accumulated, transferred and displayed on the basis of FDDI and Ethernet network.
(a) The performance of DICON server which is installed on UNIX workstation INDIGO2 was improved.
(b) The system, with which the Images generated with SPECT, DR, MRI, or film digitizer for educational and research use, was constructed and the performance was analyzed.
(c) The system in which image processing apparatuses based on the UNIX WS, WINDOWS NT, and Machintosh can retrieve the images from the DICOM server and the performance was analyzed.
(2) The system constructed in which packets on the transmission line can be observed on the MS-WINDOWS and UNIX based terminals and developed the method to measure the time duration in which specific packets is on the transmission line.
(3) The mathematical model was established representing the relations between the image size and transmission time or preparation time, using linear functions and the properties of each apparatus was measured on the basis of the mode.
