Research Abstract

Recently, there is increasingly the gingivitis of children. The cause of the gingivitis is the stimulation by the dental plaque which adhered to the gingiva. The gingivitis is improved by proper oral prophylaxis. The blood flow in the gingiva stagnates, and the gingivitis causes inflammation and swelling. Then , we researched that the blood flow in the gingiva of children affected the condition of the gingiva.
The results were as follows ;
1. The blood flow between maxillary primary central incisors more increased than between primary central incisor and lateral incisor.
2. The blood flow of male child more increased than female child.
3. The blood flow decreased by oral prophylaxis of the gingiva.
4. The blood flow more decreased when it bled in oral prophylaxis.
The measurement of the blood flow in the gingiva seems to be useful for the clinical research of children in order to grasp the health status of the gingiva and judge the improvement on the gingivitis.
