Research Abstract |
The first step gathering information in nursing is to observe the client and their enviroment. This is the most important activity because it will change even the quality of the nursing. More than 70% of information at the observation come from the input by visual acuity. The objectives of the study is to compare the characteristics of the observation nurses and student nurses. Number of subjects : 14 nurses (abbreviation : nurs) and 18 student nurses (abbreviation : student). Method : Each person attached with "eye mark recorder (typu 7 ; Nac Co, )" on their head. They observed a slide of the figure of nursing activity divided into 15 parts. The recorded data on VTR was analyzed on the objects ( divided parts) observed (focused) duration of focusing , and the frequency of focusing the divided parts. t-test was used for the statistics. Results : 1) Duration of focusing and the frequency of the focusing showed no significant differences between tow groups ; There was wide individual variation ; Both group showed significantly high coefficient between total focusing duration and the focusing frequency. 2) Tow groups focused on different parts. 3) Nurse focused on more localized parts compare with those in studrnt group. The results indicated that the nurse has readiness to focus at their observation to get the enough nursing information , however, student group has no readiness for in this kind of proposed nursing scene.
