Research Abstract |
In educational evaluation field it has been pointed out that it is important to evaluate student's structural understanding. As one of the countermeasures related to the above problem, we have presented the method of cognitive mapping tests and its theoretical analysis, synthesis and evaluation. We have developed a performance evaluation method based on comparison of the map drawn by the student with one drawn by the teacher. Next, we have reported its practical use in the "Design and Drawing" class in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in our university. We have presented the results on improvement of our instructional method as an example of its effective use.
