Research Abstract |
(a) Model, system, and performance evaluation : i. We proposed a realistic communication model for parallel computing on computer cluster. ii. We constructed a four nodes cluster with Myrinet and Convey cluster software. iii. We measure the performance of the cluster through experiments using WebBench 3.0 software. (b) Parallel architectures : We proposed two methods for designing array processors i. The first method is a systematic approach in which all admissible designs are explored systematically through data dependency graph. ii. The second method is a dimensional splitting approach in which a multidimensional array processor can be constructed using three different types of linear arrays. (c) Parallel algorithms and applications : i. We designed efficient online algorithms for collective communication on computer clusters. ii. We designed fault-tolerant routing algorithms for parallel computers with fixed topologies such as hypercubes and star graphs. iii. We used the computer cluster to build servers for applications on 3-D graphics and image processing.
