Research Abstract |
In this research, we developed a system to appreciate real art works in a real museum by remote control of a mobile robot, as a tool to obtain the data for modeling the evaluation structure of KANSEI. In this term, we achieved our objectives through following researches. (a) Development of a mobile robotic avatar (b) Wireless communication between the robot and the web server (c) Remote driving method of the robot to cope with a communication time delay (d) Connection via ISDN to the Internet from the real museum (e) Experiments to obtain the appreciation attitute by using the robot (f) Remote control interface of the robot with a WWW browser (g) Comparison of the appreciation through the robot and the one of the VRML museum Consequenty, we realized the remote appreciation system using the mobile robot, which can be accessible via the Internet with the WWW browser from all over the world. In near future, we hope the system is utilized for the research on the modeling the evaluation structure of KANSEI.
