Research Abstract

新しいエネルギー源としてのみでなく環境に優しい化学プロセスとして、可視光・太陽光による触媒と電極上での物質変換とエネルギー生産過程を含む環境調和型の化学プロセス・システムの実現が切望されている。本研究では、研究分担者らがこれまでに光電極と光触媒の分野で創製・蓄積した学術的・技術的成果を機能的および組織的に交換し、可視光・太陽光による環境調和型新技術の設計への新展開を計った。年度の初めに非公開の打ち合わせ研究集会を開催、分担者の研究方針および役割分担を確認し、可視光、太陽光で稼働する光触媒の開発(安保、堂免、和田)、環境負荷物質無害化プロセスの構築(井上、高須、大塚、井藤、嶋津)、二酸化炭素転換プロセスの構築(大倉、堀、金子、荒又)、環境調査型合成プロセスの構築(大谷、淵上、竹平)に関して意見交換と議論を行った。また、平成10年11月には「太陽光を利用する光触媒に関する国際シンポジウム」を開催し、海外からこの研究分野で最先端を進んでいる著名な3名の光触媒研究者を招聘して批判や提言を得るとともに最近の世界的な動向と今後の展開などに関して討論・意見交換を行った。特にA.J.Nozik教授の招待講演では、光触媒技術開発に関する世界の情勢や今後の見通しと課題についてグローバルな観点からの意見を頂いた。また、7名の共同研究者が分担者間の研究協力と成果交換の結果について公表するとともに、研究方針の明確化と研究の進展を計った。以上、光電極および光触媒反応系に関する学際領域の積極的な連携と融合、および海外の第一線の研究者を交えた意見交換は、可視光・太陽光による環境調和型技術の設計と新展開に大きな指針を与えるものであった。
