Research Abstract

本年度は、強磁性Fe薄膜/強誘電体BaTiO_3ヘテロ構造における歪み誘起磁気異方性変化に関連して、(1)強誘電体BaTiO_3の強誘電ドメイン構造と強磁性体Feの強磁性ドメイン構造との相関について磁気光学顕微鏡を用いて精査し、さらに(2)BaTiO_3の圧電特性を利用したFe/BaTiO_3接合界面おける電圧誘起保磁力変化について調査した。具体的な研究成果は下記の通りである。
(1)顕微磁気光学測定を用いた強誘電体・強磁性体ドメイン構造の相関の解明
エピタキシャル強磁性Fe薄膜/BaTiO_3ヘテロ構造に対して顕微磁気光学計測を行い、強誘電ドメイン構造と強磁性ドメイン構造を観察し、その相関について調査した。その結果、BaTiO_3のaドメインおよびcドメイン上のFe薄膜の薄膜面内での磁気異方性が、Fe/BaTiO_3接合界面において誘起される界面磁気弾性効果を反映してそれぞれ2回対称性および4回対称性を示すことが明確化した。また、BaTiO_3のaドメインおよびcドメイン上のFe薄膜の磁化反転磁場の磁場方位依存性を調査した結果、BaTiO_3のドメイン境界においては、Fe薄膜の強磁性ドメイン間に顕著な磁気的相互作用が発現していることを示す明瞭な証拠が得られた。
(2)電圧による強磁性薄膜の磁気異方性の制御
エピタキシャル強磁性Fe薄膜/BaTiO_3ヘテロ構造に対して、BaTiO_3の180°ドメイン壁と90°ドメイン壁を介したa,cドメインからなる領域(領域1)と180°ドメイン壁を介したaドメインのみからなる領域(領域2)の2つの領域において保磁力の電圧依存性について調査した。その結果、領域1では、Fe薄膜の保磁力が電圧に対してバタフライ形状で変化するのに対して、領域2では保磁力の電圧依存性が観測されなかった。以上の保磁力の電圧依存性は、電圧に伴うドメイン壁の変調効果として理解される。
