Research Abstract

フラックスゲートでは世界のチャンピオンデータと言える分解能1pT/Hz@1Hzをアモルファス磁性ワイヤをコアとして用いる基本波型直交フラックスゲートで達成した.以下に成果の要点を示す.
(1)励磁電流の直流成分(Idc)を大きくすればBarkhausen雑音が抑制されるが感度も小さくなり,Idcと励磁電流の交流成分(Iac,Iac<Idc)との間には最適なSN比を実現するための組み合わせが存在する.実用的には,Idc=40mAに対して,Iac=20~35mAが最も低い雑音を達成する範囲である.
(2)微少な検出コイルを2個用いた雑音評価実験から,ワイヤの1箇所で発生した磁気雑音はワイヤ内を10mmを越えて広がる(相関がある)こと,また,同一励磁電源で励磁された2つのワイヤの雑音の相関性を調べたところ他の雑音によって相関が観測できないことから,励磁電流に含まれる雑音は存在してもほぼ無視できることを明らかにした.
(3)ワイヤコアを長くすれば,微弱な磁場をワイヤ内に濃縮する濃縮率が高くなるので検出感度は増加する.一方,ワイヤ内の磁気雑音の発生源の数も増加する.ワイヤ長が大きくないところでは感度の増加は磁気雑音の増加に勝るが,徐々にその割合は1になる.また,ワイヤ長を長くしすぎると空間分解能が当然低下する.このため,実用な観点から最適長が存在する.この観点から,120μm径のワイヤでは60mm程度が実用的上限である.
(4)電流をワイヤに通電し150℃程度の低温熱処理で磁性ワイヤの円周方向に磁気異方性を誘導し,センサヘッド自体のオフセットを除去するのに成功した.これによって,プリアンプのゲインを高くすることができ,また,キャリアの電圧振幅が不要に大きくならず電子回路の雑音を抑制できた.これによって,60mmワイヤ長のセンサヘッドで1pT/√Hz@1Hzを達成した.
